As of October 2016, the AIDA-2020 project has completed its first 18 months of activities. The first Periodic Report, totally over 100 pages, is ready to be submitted to the European Commission documenting the major success over the first year and progress on goals for the future. The full publishable summary is available to download on the AIDA-2020 website.

Since the beginning of the project, the 15 Work Packages have held over 80 meetings, including the First Annual Meeting at DESY in Hamburg with 135 participants. Members of the project have produced 30 publications, including journal papers and conference proceedings, and engaged in 35 communication and dissemination activities, including posters, talks and press articles. A total of 7 deliverables and 36 milestones were achieved and documented in the first period across all WPs. Whilst the scientific section of the report is now complete, financial data are still coming in from participants and are being integrated for final submission to the EC.

In summer, the project had opened a call for proposal for its Proof-of-Concept innovation fund. It received 11 good applications, and successful applicants have recently been selected, too.

With this intense period now on its final stretch, the AIDA-2020 Project Management would like to thank all members of the project for their work and their support in 2016, and wish you a restful holiday period, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
